I played Dota couple of times when it was mod for Warcraft, but I did play similiar mod called Battleship. Simpler when it came down to map and equipment.

Also is Dota with only one map?

I liked all of the versions, but when the version came up to the point when Black Pear wasn't no longer the strongest ship I started to lose my interest. No gamebreaking, but it just seemed pointless to add more stuff when the original already had fine balance. Too many different modes and no solid official one(never played this game professionally), I let it go. But Battleship was the best, I didn't even realize there was some clan matches or something. I thought I was some lonely bird with everyone talking about Dota.

Same with Risk. Original had this clear balance of what province you will take. Take too large and you are pound to take greater risk, but if you succeed with timing and weakness of you enemies you will succeed. It was great, but then there came this time of pussyfying with Risk Revolution(+) and its alliance system. No longer was this game about victory. It was "let's form alliances with the strongest" and if even one player backstaps me he shall be banned(in some community center banlist).

For me Risk would be perfect game if it was played with money, minium bet 10$. Winner takes it all, losers gets none.

First game today and I was absolutely rubbish. Terrible to a point when even I was annoyed. No one really said anything, but I was being tossed around all over the place because I had no idea what to do or where to be, but I did take part in defending and assaulting together.

I took Axe and ended up 4 kills and 19 deaths(and 9 As whatever that is). So I died constantly. I don't know, I didn't really do that much damage and only at the end I realized I can actually upgrade my stats instead of using all of the level points to skills.

What kind of stuff should I buy for my guy(Axe)?

I like how it has integraded the Steam friends list and all. And how the shopping system is much better than going to different shops and taking your time reading through the list and then to next shop ect. now I can just check out stuff while moving around.

my Axe guy sucks. He does no damage and when I use him as I should the abilities suck. From all of the dudes I choce the shittiest one. Shout so the enemies draws to him, well they don't and it last for like second so it's useless.
