I just called you up. It's Nov. 3rd and I wish to meet you up.

We're going to a lan. I tell you I want to meet you there at 1:30am on Nov 4th.

Considering there is now two times of 1:30 that can occur, what is the best way to solve this communication barrier?

Just fun to think about.

What do you mean by "two times of 1:30" ? You said 1:30am and there's only one of those on each day...

Do you mean the issue of 1:30am, Nov. 4 potentially being interpreted as the night of Nov4 (when it really means tonight), so really 1:30am Nov 5?

In any case, solve it by asking "how many hours from now?"

Just add EST, CST, MST or PST. everyone know when DST ends, and if you don't have DST you know that as well (like here in AZ - it's MST all the time)

Ohh i didn't see DST in the title. -_-

Anyway, the solution to any time thing is to use GMT/UTC, since that never changes -- DST changes the local offset from UTC -- for instance Eastern will switch from EDT (UTC-4) to EST (UTC-5). Though asking "how long from right now" works too.
