I did because it was creative(you could have nice play time with them, even tho. I was more into making it all up in your head...). But playing it with video game is different, why not just model some 3d models with software? Seems to be at the same boring level to me.

Because only stuff I have seen while watching some videos is people showing what they have created in Minecraft. Isn't that kinda same as 3d modelling?

I just don't see why people find this so appealing. Maybe if there was some kind of multiplayer and you could build your own castle or something and then attack the enemy team, I could get into that.

The thing about Minecraft is you can totally do yhat. You can do whatever the fuck you want in it. People have made mjnesweeper for cryin out loud. Not to mention the computer that was made using (correct me if I'm wrong) red stone.

Minecraft is just a crazy amount of awesome built into a survival game that lets you do just about anything of you know how.

Well, if you make a fort in a 3D modeling program you can't go shoot monsters from its walls with a bow afterwards (unless you also programmed a game that has that and can use your model in it....maybe I should be doing that...)

For me a lot of the appeal is in exploration, setting up little bases in the awesome landscape, delving into caves for treasure, etc.

The exploration is pretty awesome. I didn't play Minecraft myself, but I played games similar like Terraria. I loved going out, seeing what I could build and what little encampments you can make out there.

If I were to play Minecraft, I really would want to do what I've seen in some Youtubes videos.

Hunger Games, but minecraft.
