This is shaping up to be a stellar movie-going year. The latest trailer for Skyfall, the new Bond film, was just released a couple days ago and it looks like it has some serious potential. After a four year wait and a slight disappointment in Quantum of Solace, die hard Bond fans will have their day.

Wait, I thought quantum of solace was pretty decent compared to casino royale... anyways this does look promising, but I still don't accept Daniel Craig as bond. But who knows, he might redeem himself.

The thing about Skyfall that excites me the most is the sense of vindication that I feel (and many fans, I'm sure). 'Prequel' is a dirty word these days, but that's really what the others were supposed to function as. They were a lead-in to more familiar Bond territory. Now, instead of chasing after political enemies, Bond is going head to head against a terrorist with a grand master plan. Throw in Q and a few of his gadgets to help Bond get the upper hand and make use of his wits and we're home again, my friends. Hell, yes!

By the way, Quantum of Solace wasn't a bad film, it just felt light on plot and had the misfortune of following the best 007 movie since Goldeneye.
