2GB of pc6400 DDR2 RAM was in the $200+ range only two years ago. I think there was some sort of price fixing going on between IC manufacturers.

Ya - there have been so called 'shortages' - no shit one year about 10-12 back the only place they really mass produced memory in that period was in Japan. I swear, every time the unit price fell under $50 another "silicon factory fire" would drive it up over $150. Greedy bastards need to keep their hands off the 'supply and demand' cycles.

That or a similar card should run almost any modern game at a reasonable resolution. I've got a 9600GT (slightly overclocked by manufacturer) in my desktop PC and it renders all my games with their highest settings like a hot knife slices through butter.

Now if they'd just make one like it that I could shove in my laptop... Smile
