getting my dad into pirates

well, since i joined the usmc almost a full year ago, it has been hard to keep in contact with my dad.....at least with out running up the phone bill. and there is almost no way that we can just be chilling having fun wile we casually talk. any way, i am starting to think that if i can get him into bf1942 and bfp, that that might be the perfect way.

the problem......he joined the USN during the 1960's....... retired in 2000.........and is still a workaholic doing the same stuff for the same people that he use to work with in the military, and further more he loves it. on top of that, when he is not working, he is building a 2 story house BY HIMSELF. (i was helping him before i joined)

any way, i doubt he has ever seriously played a video game in his life, and he is the type to consider things like that a waist of time with nothing to show for it.

any way, any ideas how i can get him to start playing??????......i also will be on the other side of the country from him.....

also if we do get him to start playing, we will have ourselves a REALLY FUCKING old fart gamer Rolling Eyes

EDIT: yes he dose know how to use a comp, auto cad, ebay, exel, media, and shit like that so as far as that goes he should be good........i think the first thing i will try to get him to do is dl vent and xfire.

old people are lost causes when it comes to video games. maybe if you get him hooked on a wii, you can ease him into BFP

And if instead of trying getting him to play BFP, you could get him to work. Just have him come along in the BFP community and if he knows all that you say he does, then he could make web pages, flash, etc. Seems like he'd love to work, so to some people, that's work.

err ya that is another thing, if i DO get him into pirating, if any one but brutus owns him really bad, i will make sure to send a lot of knives/axes/bullits/sowrd slashes/powder kegs in your direction.

and about the house......since it IS only him working on it, and he is a perfectionist, and it is a big house, it will probely take a year or 2 from now before he even gets to hanging sheet rock.....

and as to the comp stuff, i dont know if he knows how to make a web page or anything like that. i know he cant coad or skin, but i also do know that he did work with the computers that used punch cards for programs back in the day.

and for the record. auto cad is rather easy, just expensive as fuck.
(if any of you can drop a dime as to how to get a cheep copy, there are a few things i could use it for.)
