New mod concepts

I am considering starting on a new mod (probably UT2007). It would be a LONG time in the making so it will be far off (or never Razz

) but I was hoping you guys could help me choose an initial direction - OR offer me a better one!

Here is what I have so far for Mod ideas:

- American Civil or Revolutionary War

- Witches/Witch Hunter (Puritan/Salem, Union, other?)

- Japanese Warrior Monks (+supernatural, eastern pirate ships, etc. )
(or maybe like Japanese mystics in slight future (ninja vs swat for example))

- Roman Legions

- Musketeers

Most of those sound like they would be a biotch to code, so I think shoes is on the right track with something more futuristic/fantasy. Maybe you could go for something kind of Doomish but instead of you just being space marines you could also be the supernatural demons or whatever. Very Happy

Fuedal Japan mod. Ninjas/Shoguns. Then you could have a single player episode where you are Chuck Norris and kick the shit out of the entire Island.

No, no...make a mod with huge maps and 64 player servers, it's all coop, but it's 64 on the Bot-Chuck Norris, like Mecha-Chuck or something. Give him some huge amount of hit points and....what was I talking about?

I think the half-court basketball mod would be the easiest actually.

Most of them would be kinda tricky to code but thats ok. I thought I would look at the Rune stuff for swords/shield stuff, at least for starters. The guns are easier but the future sci-fi shit is overdone already - because it is easy, and nobody knows what vehicles SHOULD look like...

I was thinking "invasion" mode for all of them. Where Chuck-like heroes decimated grunt helpers as well as players on the opposing team. Mass carnage ftw!

You should make a side-scrolling fighting mod with different awesome characters like Spiderman, Chuck Norris, Big Bird, Nicholas Cage, Mario, Mark McGuire, Conan O'Brian, the Terminator...

Basically the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny, the game. Sprinkle a little humor and gore on there with some actual solid gameplay, and I guarentee people will roffle by the droves.

EDIT: More possible characters. Bruce Lee, Gimli the dwarf, aunt Jemima, the Easter Bunny, Captain Hook, Buddha, Mel Gibson in Braveheart (specifically,) giant mecha Colin Powell, Uday Hussein.. the possibilities are endless. The maps could range from the Staples Center in L.A. (DURING a Laker game,) an Al Qaeda cave complete with working, explodable terrorists, the film studio for the O.C., Google.com, the Death Star, the sun... anywhere, really.
