OK so I love my dog, I admit it.

While I was in India my Choc Lab blew out her knee.

So $2,600 later...

You know, you never hear of chocolate bunnies neding a vet. And think how many you could have gotten for $2600!

Mine's trying to LICK through her collar to get to the cast. lol

$2,600 is a very good price for knee replacement surgery, although I could get 4 puppies for same price. This dog is only 2 years old and like any of our dogs, she is a member of the family.

Oh and Wang if you blew out your knee, the operation would cost something like $5,000 to $10,000 to the sky's the limit.

I guess because we had to put down a beautiful German shepard that was only 5 years old, just 3 years ago that we decided to save this lab, timing is everything.

Well most people know what a nut I am when it comes to my dogs Wink

The cost is well worth what they give back over a lifetime. I won't even tell you what I spend a year on my dogs chiropractor, diet, training, trialing Rolling Eyes

but then again mine are performance working dogs so it's what I do Wink

Could have tons more money though LOL

I have never owned a cat. Though I do love p.... hmm, nvm. Wink

I have had to put down a couple dogs. Sad

It does suck. My dog now is AWESOME and at least 14 years old (thats when we took him from a chicken wire doug pound on the border of Mexico). He was our "kid" for ~6 years until we decided to have children. When he goes it will be crushing to our family.

Doggies in casts and head-funnel-thingys ftl.

EDIT: I heard yesterday the cost of owning a dog for a lifetime is the same total cost of ownership as a BMW. Razz

You do know the correct term is veterinarian clinic. I can't stand seeing them called animal hospitals Very Happy
