I've been glued to Fox for the last week. The whole thing is so fucking sad. I encourage everyone to donate to some organization that is helping, I sent some money to the Red Cross today. Donate blood, anything.

I think it's my duty to make sure no one ever does something as dumb as building a city below sea level in a disaster zone. It happened in Galveston in 1900, it sorta happened with Camille in the sixties, and now its' really fucked us over. We'll never learn Sad

my shop teacher is going down there w/ the coast guard to own some rioters in the face, and if I had money / anything else I'd most assuredly send it down there... what's sad though, none of the celebrities are doing anything to help, nor are any foriegn countries, even though when that tsunami pwned them we helped... bleh, it is quite the sad story though...

Yeah nony, at 1st I thought it was like any other Hurricane.But when I saw how devastating it was , the videos and pictures I was so shocked.Cause im used to seing teh aftermath of Hurricanes since I live in Puerto Rico and we get them all the time.But this totally blew me away. My prayers goes to all the people that were affected by teh Hurricane.

And like Nony said, if you can ,donate money to teh Red Cross,cause they really need it.My mom already did.

Already have, Sprite. By the way, I encourage everyone to boycott Ted Koppel's news show from now on. He lured one of the relief officials onto his show and then insulted him the whole time by basically saying they were doing nothing to help. Mass chaos in one of the most dangerous cities in this hemisphere is kinda hard to fix overnight, Ted. Besides, I don't see you writing out any giant checks you arrogant f#$%ing prick. His idea of helping is to point fingers, which is helping a ton in Iraq. People have been loading up a charity bin at my local Wal-Mart to help, and they're middle to lower class. At least us normal guys still know what matters. Sad.

Plenty of celebrities are doing things to help - George Steinbrenner has donated 1mil and counting, and Deion Sanders is pledging all NFL players to donate 1K. A lot of them have volunteered to do relief shit on TV which is pretty cool.

ok we all know my town got wiped out last year but these fuckers had warning we did not and they still did nothing to mobilize shit in advance charlie was headed one way and in 2 hours banked right and hit Punta Gorda katrina was Cat 2 when it rolled thru lower Fla and made a hard right up to the big eazy 2 days out it was CAT 5 if i was the local govt with something like that esp after seeing what charlie did and had 2 days to prepare shit like this would not be happening GG to the local govt for failing in its #1 job protect your people

this is not a bash its just how ignorant folks are about the power of hurricanes and the total lack of preparedness

I sort of agree, but I think society as a whole is ignorant when it comes to natural disasters.

lol, everyone are helping. Sri lanka sends 25 000 dollars (probably as much as they can afford), and Cuba is offering to send 1 100 doctors and 20-something tonnes of medical supplies.
