Last we saw the Joker had killed countless innocents, trapped Batman twice, poisoned Jim Gordon, and captured and blinded Alfred.

We now see a trapped Batman, a gloating Joker, an incapacitated Nightwind, and the police have arrived. In true new-Joker fashion, they all get attacked within minutes and Joker incapacitates Batman and pushes him into the water. This issue is all about Batman vs Joker, the long-game that they have played. When Bruce awakes he finds himself in the Batcave surrounded by the Bat-family. It is here where Bruce tries to explain the Joker and how he thinks to them.

He tells of a story from his early days about how he defeats the Joker and throws him into Gotham river. Later when he goes looking for him nothing was found, upon a return to the Batcave, Batman find a Joker card stuck to his boat.

Batman tries to explain that nothing the Joker ever does is random, but it does not mean that what he does is specific either. He wanted to get to Batman and the best way to get there was through Bruce Wayne and his partnership with Batman which led him to Alfred.

Bruce Wayne then tells his family to stay as he goes out ot hunt down the Joker. Of course this leads him to his Castle: Arkham Asylum. Where we know that the Joker has been releasing and making deals with other villains for an end-game I cannot even imagine. I am truly excited for what is going to happen to our beloved Bat, but I am even more excited to find out what game Joker is playing.
