there are a lot of ways to judge what's 'better', but i think AMD gives more bang for your buck.

well, on the VERY high end ($1,000 and up) intel is said to be better, but as far as cpu's within normal pp's price range, amd does apear to give more power for the money.

when i was building my new comp, i went with AMD.

however, if i needed a new comp, and it woould be cheeper to go with intel, i would go with them.

the high end intels are hotter & pricier & they eat more power and are FAR less overclockable

my power thing becomes moot when overclocking is involved, but to get an intel running smoothly on stck settings, u usually have to up the voltage to 1,75 or so (which is what my AMD wants with a pretty hefty overclock)
