Isn't that AGP? AGP's are rapidly getting outdated Sad

how do you figure? i dunno how much more powerful PCI-E is but even so, AGP is hardly 'outdated'

anyway, cool card.

bf2 is leetskeet to the utter extreme. me, nugget, chocula, and shnagenburg's brother (mr.Waffles) owned this server for an hour or two, it was awesome. We won at least 5 rounds. too bad BF2 doesn't record my stats Sad

PCI Express gives you:-
1. Better bandwidth (8GB/s on x16 PCI Express)
2. Better power through the slot
3. You can plug other non graphics cards into that PCI Express x16 slot if you want
4. Once the OS and drivers catch up you get great features like guaranteed bandwidth for graphics etc.

^Supposedly^

You "owned" the server as in you actually "owned" it or are you referring to "ownage"? Razz

I don't have much money since my dad can't pay his child support anymore... Sad so I'd still have to stick with the bare minimum I can get and still be able to play BF2.

of course PCI-E is better, but it doesn't mean that AGP is getting outdated quickly. Owned it as in "we destroyed everyone because we're the best people ever"

1. So what? As far as I know, no one's passed the AGP 4x bandwidth limit...

2. I though this was true as well, but I see high-end power guzzling cards that are PCI-X using external power.

3. Find me another PCI peripheral device and maybe I'll agree on this one. Quite a marketing con :-/

4. We... already... have that...

AGP is far from outdated. It's interesting that you said, "oh, isn't that AGP?". Do you expect him to go out and get a new motherboard or what?

One last thing, many cards come in both PCIx AND AGP.

1. what wang said (but i think there are a few 8x appz, i thought doom3 & hl2 were? but nothing even attempts to use 16 yet)

2. what wang said, plus, who cares anyway, if u have a good comp, u have a good power supply, and if u dont(have a good PSU that is), youre stupid

3. yeah, but then u have to take out your video card??? thats pretty dumb, ud have to have a pci 1x card to use when u do that... either that or u could but ur 16x card in a 1x slot.... and watch ur comp run like shit, no thanks, pci cards are plenty fast for me

4. what wang said

honestly, who here has a pci-e board??? anyone??? <chirrrrp chirrrrrp> thought so... why not??? becuse it isnt worth upgrading... why shell out huge $$ for pci-e now when in a year itll be a reasonable price & things will actually use all the new features... but then sofware will take another jump & ull be toast.... right now is a ram upgrade time, its cheap, new vid cards & mobos & cpu's are high, buy ur ram & hard drive now & buy a new mobo/vid card when theyre cheap again

ok ok ok... I'm too lazy right now to read all of that...

So tell me, is the video card I'm about to get a good idea?

Or another better card for the same price?

Actually it is a good card, looked it up. Worth buying[If it can run BF 2 Wink], cheap but really worth a lot.

I agree. Sensei Supa is correct. Buy RAM now - buy RAM often.

game's unplayable for me ATM. i crash every time i get in game.

EA Games admitted they messed up bigtime with the patch. They're encouraging everyone to uninstall bf2 and reinstall without the patch.

Comradekil:  so anyway, i wonder how everyone's lives all progressed.. who's in jail? who's grandparents now.. ha life
Drunken Monkey:  and yes....i do miss 1942 aswell, i honestly think it is what drove me to get a M1 garand in real live, and is still my most used rifle
Drunken Monkey:  bots are getting silly
Comradekil:  Sup dudes
Messy Recipe:  the BAR-1918 always felt so good in that game
Messy Recipe:  I miss vanilla 1942 as much as Pirates... need to see if the Origin version (or even original) still has anyone playing sometime
Stealth:  Hello all! Head to the lounge and post a memory!
Stealth:  I saw a BF1942 fraps video of a guy jumping out of a plane and RPG'd another plane. I immediately came here for nostalgia. Miss you all.
Messy Recipe:  I've not tried Sea of Thieves... kinda was bummed to learn its servers don't allow many simultaneous players. gimme 32v32 galleon fights

[BB]Piccolo:  Anybody playing Sea of Thieves?
[BB]Piccolo:  I'm amazed I actually still knew my login. We Black Buccaneers certainly had a special relationship with you Cut Throats. Nothing like a fierce rivalry to make the battlefield exciting, eh? :)
