The report of the following mission:

A city at the end of a desert with the last bridge that is still intact, our task is to hold it whatever the cost...

I sent my 2 best commanders and the desert snakes to hold the bridge until further orders, there were space marines sighted in the area but it was reported minimum, nothing our task force couldn't handle, we quickly captured the west side of the bridge and started to put up defenses, artillery was posted at the bridges entrance and the riverbanks which were surprisingly low on water, once we put up our defenses we encountered the orks, they said that there is a massive army of space marines coming to capture the bridge to let supplies past for the frontier, hearing this new the task force was on full alert.

Hours went past and nothing happened, we were starting to think the orks were lying, but then... a chaos marine fell to the ground dead, then we heard a shot coming from the east side of the bridge... They had arrived, those coward space marine sent their scouts to spy on us even kill us from long range without meeting on the battlefield, COWARDS I say, ARTILLERY OPEN FIRE! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/87560354/itbegins.jpg

So they opened fire on the waiting space marines, after they realized that they were sitting ducks against the artillery they tried to cross the bridge, with no avail, they walked right into a minefield and it seemed they had met their doom at the bridge and in the hands of those who betrayed them so long ago, the chaos space marines were fueled by hatred and had no mercy, the marines withdrew to the east side of the bridge and put up a curtain of smoke to stop the artillery from hitting their targets, little did we know they were waiting for reinforcements to arrive, and we thought we had won but, all of a sudden the smoke curtain cleared up and what we saw was seemingly not possible, they had amassed an army to take the bridge no matter what, we instantly opened fire with tanks, artillery and machineguns, they didn't go over the bridge this time, they went under it, when they tried to get up the river banks they got hell.

At first they where pinned down in the craters and medics running everywhere to attend the wounded, getting mowed down by our marines, but then they started shooting back with longer ranging and more accurate artillery, that we couldn�t hit, they advanced and we couldn�t do anything but try to keep em back, but there were too many of them, the orks wanted to retreat yelling " A' rite boyz letz leave e'm and get da e'll outta here!"
but after some "persuasion of our commanders to theirs they decided to stay, but then the worst happened, they broke our lines, the dreadnoughts were swarming up the banks, which one attacked the leader of the task force, the chaos lord, he never stood a chance and dies by the hand of the emperors slaves.

after this the chaos sorcerer teleported out to manage to stay alive and lead the forces onward, he sent the remaining forces to counter the space marine attack and re-establish the line.

But to no avail, the dreadnoughts kept coming and our forces were being pushed back, the sight we saw was unbearable, they were burning our men alive, killing and wounding, it seemed all was lost.

but still we fought onward, not willing to be defeated by the emperors lapdogs, we would NEVER retreat, NEVER surrender, however their artillery was still hitting hard and leaving small craters but, this could work in our advantage

It would work! We could use the craters as cover to get away from the flames and bullets to set up mortar fire, tis worked for a while, until that is the enemy was sick of it, they even brought in their force commander!
But nonetheless, we still had our commander, however we lost one to the foul enemy, we still had a chance of winning, but then... Fire rained from the sky, it was an orbital bombardement! They had bombarded our troops and theirs aswell, but these enemies were clever and and ruthless! They used out troops as shields!

with this event we had lost all hope, some of us were deserting but our commander had an idea, he would sacrifice himself in the honour of our god, Khorne, we needed his help if we wanted to win against this force, he made the sacrifice and to our eyes was a thing that was out of our world, Khorne himself came to this plane of existence, now with his power we would win!

He said to us " you are not required here any longer, I will take care of these pathetic mortals"
and he walked off to the front, laughing and mocking the enemy while they ran away, our efforts had been for a cause, and now our god has come to aid us in our struggle!
Khorne however saw this actually as a game, he was toying with the enemy, drinking their blood, kicking them like a football, even hitting them with his axe as a form of baseball.

Finally we had won this awful battle, the most of us died but for the few that survived could tell the tale and that is how this report was made.
