too hot to handle

ok first of, my new comp is great...no software problems what so ever....

there is a slight hard ware problem though....when my cpu is under 100% load it often runs to 60*C or about 140*F.....it never goes higher but that is still too hot for me....now i know that temps dont mean anything out of context so i will list my setup and stuf...

ok first off.. my room is 85*F...

i have 7 80mm case fans on full

i have a 120mm cpu fan that i try to keep as high as posible...~4-5,000 rpm

there are also 2 fans on my psu

i have used artic silver 5 as my cpu past and aplied (to the best of my knowlage) the way it should be.....verry thin coat....

any way if any one has any low cost ideas to keep my temps down i would be verry happy...

get a louder cpu fan... dont go by cfm, they all lie, go by DB.... the louder it is, the more air it moves... or go water cooled, but theyre a bitch to move then

oooooor, the ghetto solution is to open the side & blow a room fan into it

Fan numbers don't mean shit. Tell us the following:

CPU info (have you OC'd at all?)

Location AND direction of EVERY fan.

I did that to some guy's computer. I changed all of his desktop folders to Ghetto things, like the Internet Explorer was "search for pr0n" and he had like 50 icons in which I did all that to...

7 case fans??? OMG! Your room temp is 85? OMFGyikes!!! I doubt it was designed to be run in 85 degrees. Thats probably the problem. Another 93 fans wont help.

Here are some stats on coolers though:

As for the cooling "butter" - you need enough to ensure there is no air btween your CPU and fan.

And if it is 85 degrees outside then your PC room probably gets hotter. I would say AC is your answer. If there isnt a large difference between ambient air and your CPU then the CPU wont get cooled.

Also, I would look up your CPUs specs. "Too hot for you" might not be that much of a problem, though I do I suspect you are right.

Liquid cooling might be req'd... You got water down there? And how hot is that? Shocked

Ya, 85 is pretty dang hot to be running any electronic in. Water cooling may be your answer because the tubes are generally insulated.

Water cooling is pretty much the way to go these days if you're system is still heating up even after all the fans they load up in cases.

Water cooling can be compared to a nice 70 degree day and a not so nice jump into a 70 degree pool.
