Many of you bought Rome Total War on Steam sale and while it's the best Total War game that is worthwhile to replay and experience(me being one of them), it's not motivation enough so heres a video for you:

Time to get ready for Rome Wink .

It's going to be great. Combining economy from Empire/Napoleon(don't forget to play them on Darthmod for better combat) and Shogun 2's challenge. I think this one is going to be easily the best Total War game yet, like bar none. Empire was a mess, Napoleon was better and Shogun 2 brought the challenging gameplay back that has been missing since first two games, Rome 2 should be their finest hour.

Honestly, I've been less-and-less enthralled by the Total War games as they've come out.

Still, Rome is probably the best setting for a Total War game to be in. I just hope in vain that they make it more historically accurate. xD

Also - if they actually give it decent AI this time, I'll pick this one up.

Try out Shogun 2, those guys actually make decent challenge.

I agree about historic accuracy. In Rome 1 there's like 6 different ethic/national groups just to say one. But this kind of gameplay hits the right tracks for Total War. Shogun 2 was a clear example for this, it's much easier to to improve from something like that rather than make complete new style of gameplay of muskets/ranged combat.

I have Shogun 2, and I agree it's an improvement, but I got really bored of it after beating it once.

As for realism, what I mean is that I find it very hard to play the original RTW without the Europa Barbarorum mod. I don't know if I could just pick up RTW 2.

One thing that FUCKING SUCKS about this game is that all of my people are not happy Lobsters Sad . They complain and rebel for no reason. I wish there was some kind of way to just slay the complainers and move on with smaller cities. I have build all the luxuries and theres good defence all over the place, but no...still whining.

I'm stuck on my campaign because every single city is red faced and ready to rebel. Like even my capital right next to Rome is ready to rebel. If there is one big flaw with this game and earlier Total Wars it's that. One of the greatest things would be if Firaxis bought or fused with CA and made this one big giant grand strategy game where you have option to fight battles real time.
