Ah yeah - Tobruk - and playing against real people was so exhilarating cuz the diversity in tactics seemed almost endless compared to AI

I got my kids and nephews hooked. 8 of us formed a team at the local Gaming Cafe and entered the 1942 and Desert Combat tournies. It was soo sweet - me, some late teenagers, and my kids 6 thru 16, took on a team from Intel in the championship match of first tourney we were in. By the start of the second round they realized the 1st round ass whoping domination on Market Garden wasn't a fluke. It was Midway, and my youngest got on their carrier and drove it off the map in classic BFP style. They bled so fast and we just kept sinking their spawn vessels. Game over.

We so dominated BF42 and DC there that they stopped those tournies and just held Counterstrike ones....gagg. Although we never really played that, when signed up for a CS tourney - 2 of their regular teams didn't register. ahaha

But the best gaming memories are BF42 based. Long Live the DUSTY PIRATES! LOL

Alright, we've got to do a Halloween BFP night once our new college-bound members get settled in. The game is still $10 online and is readily available. New members can easily get caught up.

EDIT: we MUST notify all the old timers too, i'm talking about the inactives: Brutus, AlmightyBob, etc. and give em enough time to find those CDs and reload or download...

BF1942 was the first proper game that I played online extensively (perhaps rivaled by Diablo 2, although I never really established any lasting relations with(in) that game). I won't easily forget the impact it had on my mid-teen years.

I got to BFP late, but I had the honor of representing CT in a few clan matches. The most fun I have ever had with a FPS was either those clan matches, the Das match, or the first season of UGC. Great memories of BFP, I really hope this reunion night ends up working out
