But many of you also come from varying political backgrounds. What do we make of this? I, for one, think that not only is this man spot on, but his logic is 100% sound. Feel free to debate, but its politically related so please try to keep it civil, political discussions, particularly on the internet, have a habit of getting out of hand. Keep in mind I will ask an admin to delete any personal attacks that show up on this thread.

I don't understand his reasoning.

He first says, if you tax the rich, then less jobs are created. (Turns out, he's stating that idea is absurd).

He then compares his idea to the Heliocentric solar system. Comparision, no new information here.

Then he self declares himself as rich but lives an ordinary life. He claims that the middle class create jobs due to a "loop" betwen businesses and consumers. To verify this, he states he dealt with business and that hiring is the last resort and only to keep up with consumer demand.

His charts seem to show that the rich are getting richer, yet the jobs are growing more scarce.

Restates idea.

My brief conclusion: It's hard to trust someone "rich" who states that you should stop taxing him.

Secondly, I see no definitive evidence that supports a strong correlation between job loss and the rich's wealth.

Finally, I do believe that the middle class is the key to job creation. The rich will nit pick to keep their money and the poor don't have any. I, however, can agree to a degree that by taxing the rich, you impose them to nit pick even more, which in turn hurts job creation. But with his presentation, he suggests that the less rich is taxed, the better we are. And that is not the case.

If you want the truth, there it is. I just wish someone on a ballot would have the guts to say these things. Also, I could give a lecture lasting an hour on why the economy is failing due to the inherent limitations in the capitalist structure as well as human psychology. Ironically, the more our society advances, the worse the economy (and quality of living) will become. PM me sometime and I'll explain why we're all screwed no matter what.

1) tax breaks for the rich DO NOT CREATE JOBS - true!
2) ONLY the middle class buying shit creates demand enough to create significant job growth - true!

the 'trickle down' bullshit doesn't help the economy AT ALL

I think Massive got it pretty right on in that statement. The middle class is what drives consumption, and consumption creates jobs. More jobs then go on to create more middle class citizens, which then creates more consumption, and more jobs. We know this is true, because it is what happened after world war 2 in this country, during our glory years when we WERE the greatest country in the world (and not just the most feared). Tax cuts for the middle class would go a LOT further towards fixing this economy than tax cuts for the rich do
