OK first off I'm reallynot the guy to write a review, but the rest of you have really dropped the ball so it's left to me...bear with this.

I can't confirm that I won't have any spoilers, so consider this a warning.

I really enjoyed the movie, although not as exciting as Aliens, nor as horrific, it has some great gory moments and this should not be missed. I give it a solid B, leaning to a B+. The storyline is certainly compelling while some aspects of the story are begging for elaboration....sequel anyone? Of course. The ending may leave you feel a bit cheated because the sequel setup, and that's why I didn't give it an A-

I'm not going into the story too much, but there are some really likeable characters here - too bad they're all doomed! lol. The geologist was really strong as a third teir character and too bad he didn't make the sequel - same goes for the captain. But by far the best character is the android - who you can't decide is really sinister or if he actually has a pre-programmed agenda... (thinking Data (STNG) with a semi-hidden emotion chip)

If you are interested in alien beings, and not just the Alien monsters, this series - if it indeed plays out as one - will be intriguing.

Go see it - I'm looking forward to taking my son to see it in 3D on Friday (I saw it non-3D) which is rare cuz I hardly ever look forward to a second screening of any movie.

So that's it - not really a review, but more of random thoughts about a movie. You guys should really avoid making me have to do another one..

also, as is the usual for ridley scott, the directors cut dvd will surely have some extra content that adds more definition to the story.

I was going to write a review for this one a couple days ago, but I felt it was too far after the release for anyone to care. I actually didn't care for it and would probably give it a C-. There's alot going on here that's done really well, but the overall tone of the movie is creepy simply because so little of it makes sense. That's what bothered me. Alien, stripped of its sci-fi pretenses, was a film about the fear of the unknown. It was fairly simple and down to Earth when you analyze the plot objectively. Prometheus, on the other hand, is a film about being freaked out because you have no idea what the hell is going on or why anything is happening the way it is. It's a shame since I was really excited to see this one.

Some of us (well, maybe just me) dont see movies very often during their first week or even three - so your reviews are always helpful
