Homies. I'm still learning this board. I'm trying to search for stuff, but i can't find search yet. Can't find this thread yet. But, I'd like to bring up a seemingly benign topic ...

24/7 CT egypt is the win.

Yet, this will be in regards to the TF2 Egypt Engy/Arch "exploit"

Personally, I love Egypt as is, but that doesn't really matter if there are rules established (and enforced).

My understanding is that CT is NOT down for the engy/arch "Exploit" ...

CT should implement that no-engy-jump plugin somehow?! I've seen it on other servers... I really have no idea how it works...server mods?! dunno.

Long story short... I've seen CT crew in the server where the arch is being "exploited" .

I've seen CT crew regulate the "exploit" ...

Are we playin' melee or are we using guns now? are we exploiting the arch or are we just gettin' fucked?

We are working on it, basically if anyone can make a that arch a no build zone, we can implement it. Until then we do what we do, many of us have real life obligations so these are my words to anyone complaining about it:

Get us a fix, please.

Chronic had a hotfix made, but we never figured out how to implement it and the whole thing lost steam. As I understand, we aim to eliminate the exploit. Should we just make a more dedicated effort and put this thing to rest? I'm sure some emails with other servers that have the fix would be a nice start.

No engy jumping wont work because 1: it overly nerfs engies and 2: you can get up there WITHOUT sentry jumping

I've been trying for a very long time to just get the freakin SDK to work. I always get the "This is unavailable at this time" bullshit.

How does the engy jump restriction nerf the engy on egypt (other than preventing him from jumping onto stuff) ?

"WranglerJump Prevent" (0.4) by retsam <---is the server plugin that seems to work fine.

I've been learning to tactically jump while carrying my sentry. Making hops to flank the other team as we capture points or move forward is incredibly fun and useful, and doesn't completely change map dynamics. Ask me any time and I'll be happy to show you dozens of places where this matters.

Also there are other areas to jump to, like the top of the first cap at stage 1, or the ledge outside the stage 2 spawn... none of those are broken like the arch, but turning off sentry jumping affects those (though I guess you could argue they aren't intended spots either).

And as atat said, it's possible to get to that arch without sentry jumping. Or at least, I've heard that too... I'm not great at engy so I can't verify.

Yeah +1 to all that, and I am gonna get some good replays of some useful sentry jumps the next time I play. The vid that I posted a month or so ago was just kind of a proof of concept without including anything too useful.
