The tf2-joining members more than likely won't know what this map is, but I am currently making Cut Throat Creek from BFP, in TF2 form.

Got a couple questions.

1. Any chance on making the server 24/7 egypt/ ctf_CTC?
Highlander only map?
Only play when voted on?

2. Any suggestions for easter eggs? I'm making a ct only room where we can hangout, drink rum, and tell tales. Its gunna require alot of steps to get in so if anyone tells a non ct member you'll be sentenced to hanging.

3. Id prefer it a capture the flag map since it worked so well in BFP, but any opinions on capture point? double payload?

1: YES LETS DO IT! We could make this change to the 2nd server if vlad is ok with it

3: Capture point could work but not offense/defense. No payload maps though, itll really just be the best at CTF

What about a KotH variant? I saw the map overview, but never playing it I don't have an idea of the size. CTF, KotH, and 5cp seem like the best variants, IMO.

1) Sounds fine to me.

2) I like that idea. There are all sorts of bfp things we could do.

3) CTF is what makes sense. CP would be a little strange IMHO. PLR would be hilarious.

Believe it or not, CTC events are a large part of why I wanted a backup server. I expect us to make lots of iterations for CTC before we find a version we can settle with, so be warned. That's how custom maps always work out.

On a separate note, if you can help me figure out how to export models to the proper formats for the engine, I can make the models we need for trees, rocks, rum barrels and whatnot.

honestly Vlad i was just going to use hammer engine 3d cropper and make em, not gunna be high pixels or anything but it will look almost identical to bfp. My HUUUUGE problem is that I reformated my computer and I dont have bfp anymore so I'm going sololey off memory. Any screens would be loved.

To be honest, I doubt a carbon copy would serve TF2 very well. Making it work in a modernized format might actually be healthy for the map. Bear in mind, I've played Dustbowl, Badlands, and 2Fort since Team Fortress Classic in 1999 and their current versions are so much better that the old ones look like primitive pieces of junk. My point is that sentimentality and loyalty to a design are not nearly as powerful as solid gameplay. Taking liberties is to be expected.

yea I agree, but my lame-ly made bfp trees and barrels won't slow down or affect gameplay, their just for old tyme bfp effects! I mean unless your talking about me replacing large med kits with barrels, medium kits with komodo dragons on a stick, and small med kits with bottles. Large ammo with chests and medium with smaller chest (fuck small ammo boxes, not even gunna make an idea for them) now that is a whooooole different story. That would actually be pretty sweet, I just dont know how to replace items, I would have to look into that. I know ive been on a few customs maps where they have done it, so it IT possible, but probably not a walk in the park. Example: trade_minecraft has edible food that gives you health on the sides of the map.
