They definitively stand out, also according to the tf2wiki. A fully charged shot from the new rifle will take out an ubered player. IMO, that is stupid and makes snipers a tad too powerful.

It goes through Ubers, but doesn't kill the ubered person. So it would kill the person running behind the ubered medic.

Snipers were always good against turrets anyways, its just most of them dont think about it (snipers can be pretty single track minded). A fully charged bullet would always mess a sentry up though and unless the engie was right there to repair it it would die in 2 shots. Good snipers will aim a fully charged shot at a sentry and wait for a rocket to hit it. If they shoot the sentry at the exact same moment the rocket hits, it dies instantly and the engie gets no chance to fix it

To be fair, atatme, most people play with a one track mind, and I know I have been guilty of this sometimes. However, one of the biggest examples of this, for me atleast, is that many engines do not realize that you can use the wrangler for Defense. For an example:

It takes One Demoman 4 non-crit stickys to take out 1 sentry.
Now with the wrangler, it takes the same demoman 6 stickys to take out 1 sentry.
What engineers should do is: First off switch to the wrangler, this guarantees that the turret will only die to 6 stickys, at the same time switching between wrench and wrangler the engineer can keep a turret alive long enough for his teammates to take out the demoman.

Most people will only be offensive with the wrangler, or use it on egypt2 to get on top of the pillar (which in my opinion is a cheap tactic that pretty much requires a ubered-demo/soldier to take out.).

The Machina is pure bullshit. Now, instead of surviving a body shot at full charge, medics die instantly from those too. If they're in a distant spot and the area you need to run to is out in the open, they just plain kill you. There's no reason to choose the original sniper rifle over this thing. It's effectively been replaced completely. I don't mind that stock melee weapons are outmoded pretty quickly in TF2, but this is horrible balance and I expect it to be nerfed soon.

Maybe they'll nerf it with a promotional anti-sniper armor item from some other game. I'm hoping for the Episode 3 HEV suit...

Actually on some PL maps, the machina is not that great. Especially on the ones where the final push is a corridor, the loss of the no-scope shots is just too much. I do agree the sniper is powerful, but at the same time on egypt1 you can negate it completely as a medic, on O by waiting at the bottom of the stairs and just build an uber for a push. Egypt 2, and 3 are different however and especially egypt3, part 2 show how annoying one sniper with it can be.
