A kid just went out of his way to message me and tell me that I sucked at Uncharted 2 after I'd played online a whopping 3 times. You see, this is why we PC gamers have an air of elitism:

1. The high costs of good gaming PCs means that it excludes most children from playing good games online.
2. Joysticks are completely inferior to the mouse and keyboard combo in every conceivable way when playing shooters.
3. Everything that console games do that's cutting edge has been around on PCs for a minimum of two or three years.
4. Our games actually have communities and we get new content for free.
5. My gaming station can run Photoshop and make games.

I'd always resisted buying a console because I always figured the spoiled brats I'm used to seeing and hearing in public would be online. It's sad to see that I was precisely correct. I miss the days of the Nintendo 64. If someone you were playing a game with back then was a dick, you just leaned over and punched them in the side of the head.

And for racing/flying/etc, we can still plug in a 360 controller....or if we don't like it, whatever damn controller we want!

Spot on - entire post.

(my boys have dragged me to a Howie's Game Shack a couple of times) It's funny if you ever play at a place like that and kick some ass, when the kids find out it's some 40 yr old that lit em up they get weird looks on their faces and usually end up going to the console area licking their wounded egos...or get on WoW. Laughing

I often play games with my game pad just because it's more fun and relaxing way to play games. Just sit back and relax on your couch and enjoy some good singleplayer game. I can see why most people prefer this type of gaming and I'm thinking should I even bother buying new computer once this gets old in 2-4 years. Most games are going to be console centric anyway and waiting for couple of only pc-games is pretty tedious.
