Holy shit! Have you tried the spy's new gun? It's like an artillery that cuts through enemies like a dry grass.

Talking about balance with these unlocks. Yesterday I was just using it, I didn't even bother sneaking behind enemies anymore. Why should I? Fuck that, I have a frigging fast mini-sniper on my hand.

I have two of them (silly unlock system). I haven't really tried it out much since they changed the headshots from mini-crits to full crits. Sounds like I should try it again. I just got the cloak and dagger, and I really like it. I feel much more stealthy watching from the corner cloaked, waiting for a target.

I don't play spy. Smile

But now that they added achievement milestones I might because it'll give me some tangible class-specific goals to help learn it.

I haven't gotten anything new than the ambassador(new spy gun) and death clock(haven't found any use of it, what is it good for?).

But the stealth thing where you can just camp in one corner sounds like really useful(camping near their spawn ect.). What does the new dagger do? Surprised

I hope they will just release it for anyone because these things will change the class to more useful/deadly when used right.

Spy is with the Sniper the most frustrating classes, but also the most satisfying when you can get the groove for them. Nothing better than killing half of their team pushing the cart as spy(or seeing how medic wastes his uber on you).

There's no new knife for the spy, just the new gun and two different invisibility watches. I don't have the dead ringer, but the way it's supposed to work is that you feign death as soon as somebody damages you and then go invisible for 8 sec. They think you're dead, and you follow behind, uncloak and stab them. The other watch is called the cloak and dagger. It lets you stand still and recharge your cloak while invisible. The trade off is that you can't pick up ammo to recharge the cloak. It does give you time to sit and think, which can be great for beginner spys. It's much harder to use the ammo method of staying invisible, because you really need to know the map and keep moving from ammo spawn to ammo spawn.

Spy is very frustrating to learn, but I think a good spy run is the most exciting part of the game. The way I did it was by starting with the easier spy moves and moving up.

Running behind the enemy for a stealth cap is pretty simple, and effective on some maps (dustbowl stage 3, point 1). Stabbing lone heavies is a lot of fun too. You can also help offensive classes take out SGs just by chain sapping while they attack. You don't have to be particularly stealthy here, just run up while disguised and the gun won't fire or be repaired until each sapper is removed. Another easy but valuable spy move is to take out teleporter entrances. Slows the other team down and makes engies leave the guns.

Then you move on to learning harder stuff. Taking out snipers is quick, but you have to watch for the paranoid kukri. Single engies go down to either a sap and stab or stab and sap. The first order is good if the engie is a noob, the second order is harder for the engie to block, but much much harder to avoid the sentry killing you after the stab. If their are two or more SGs in the same place, it's nearly impossible with decent engies. Chain sapping during an uber is going to be a better bet. Stabbing a good medic is also very hard, but if you get him, the patient shouldn't be too hard (especially if it's a busy heavy).

Just remember when you're learning, most teams can benefit from 1 or 2 spies. 4 spies usually means you're doomed.

My next hope is to get jarate. I'll be playing tonight if anyone is around.
