Yeah you don't unlock them with achievements now. But it's worse because instead of working for something, it's now like a slot machine, except instead of occasionally winning money you might occasionally get something you already have and don't need another of.
Unlock system aside, he game still rocks, so play the free weekend all weekend then buy it for $10 in the 11th hour of the sale. _________________

Well, I bought it. CT has a pretty damn good group of guys that pretty much always dominates the servers. Today we swept a shutout win on Dustbowl placing CTs in 1-4 and Bewm somewhere down a few ranks doing a dapper engineering job.
When we team up and get medics and ubers rolling, we're unstoppable. Vlad is pretty much an epic medic, and Tawxic is probably one of the best engineers out there. Jafar is also a top-notch heavy guy. The rest of us are pretty good but we fill a variety of rolls, can't say that anyone has a class niche other than being really good. I tear it up with Pyro though but I've been playing medic pretty heavily in pubs. I'd say pyro is probably my best class though.
Anyway, we have a solid crew Keep on keepin' on and come join in.

Fun game, but I really want that damn bow. They need to make unlockables less elusive and random. _________________ -=|CT|=- Raed

They said there's some bug where people get them less often than they should, so hopefully the fix it. Most of those posts on the Steam forums are highly melodramatic....anyway you can still get all the non-sniper/spy unlocks by the normal achievements so it really only takes like 6 hours per class to get those (assuming normal play on non-achievement servers). Just wish the new ones were as easy, even though spy and sniper are my least favorite classes. _________________

Well if I had to chooce between this system and the previous, I would take this one by far. But still a lot of trouble over something like this. When you think this system now, it's just step closer to just release the unlocks for everyone(which they should have been imo).
I play as soldier mostly, but can't help but to think that demoman would be much more usefull in everything soldier does. But I pick my class by looking what my team already has. Only class I get frustrated playing is sniper, I can't hit for shit with it. _________________

Yeah, soldier is a pretty "meh" class IMO - health boost and can do the rocket-jump. Most importantly, though, I guess those rockets really help in taking out sentries but you usually die once or twice. You'd expect the soldier to take on more of a grunt role, but really he's limited to taking rocket pot shots and fucking up the enemy with that.
Demoman's ability to bank his shit around corners helps when you know there's a sentry and can't afford a medic. It's a good class to master, I'm trying to get the hang of it. I was thinking, a really great upgrade for the demoman would be a "kill switch" - he sacrifices his melee for a device that, upon dying, will detonate his mines.
Sniper was really easy on 2Fort but I can imagine it being harder on other maps that involve more footwork and checking your periphery. Ask Nugget for da helps. _________________ is now -=|CT|=- Frothy Mixture

That depends. It's really hard to take down sentries as soldier if the engineer is hammering right next to it. If you can't bring it down right away then theres no hope at all, because the reload is so slow with rockets.
I think the hitboxes are really strange in source games. I saw it with CSS when played as sniper that instead of leading you should aim little behind them or right next to them. Sometimes when I have aim dead on his head I still miss it. _________________

I find the soldier to be one of the best classes. Great for flanking people and blowing them to hell when they least suspect it. You can easily weaken enemies w/ rockets then finish them off with a shotgun. _________________ -=|CT|=- Raed

Yeah, much ass was kicked this past weekend. I look forward to an organized CT team. If you guys want to practice sniper, the training map for that is cp_lazytown or any of its derivatives. Those will teach you well.
