So apparently most people have trouble crossing their eyes, and for 3D-image viewing tend to have an easier time with the ones where you look "through" the image to a point beyond it (putting your eyes in parallel with each other). I'm apparently one of the minority that finds it easier to cross them than to straighten them. Having trouble finding anyone else that can see the 3D view of these images.

See if you can get the 3D view of this piano. The technique basically involves looking at the center division between the two, then crossing your eyes enough to merge them. When your eyes are completely crossed you get double vision so you'll actually see four pianos, but if you don't cross them too much the two closest to the middle will overlap. Then you hold it there and eventually the merged piano in the middle should come into focus and will be 3D.

If you can't cross your eyes voluntarily, then put your finger vertically on the screen right where the split is, look at it, then bring it towards you slowly while keeping focused on your finger, not the image. In the background you'll notice a third piano kinda just grows in between the two there. When it's the same size as the two on the sides you can just yank your finger away and try to keep your eyes looking at the spot in space in front of you where your finger was. You can also start with your finger right in front of your nose and move it away, and behind it there will appear to be four pianos where the two in the center eventually overlap. You can also try here:

It works because your eyes, being separated, see two slightly different angles on anything you look at. The two pianos in the picture are at slightly different angles. The view your right eye would see in real life is on the left, and the one your left eye would see is on the right, so that when your eyes are crossed they see the corresponding image and your brain thinks it's looking at one object.

I have Duane Syndrome (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duane%27s_syndrome), so I can't really cross my eyes. Oh well.

I'm a pro at the books where you have to do it, but for some reason I can't do these. After doing many of these when I was little I figured out that I'm able to shake my eyes if I cross my eyes a certain way. It's pretty funny to scare some people with it...

I got it to work. It's a nice image to do it with, but the low resolution makes it hurt like mad after a while. I focused on the logo on the piano to get things to line up.

It easier if you cross your eyes WAY cross (i.e., 2 distinct pairs). Then slowy uncross them until the middle 2 converge. At least that worked the easiest for me.

Here's one of the other kind -- where instead of crossing your eyes you focus on a point behind it and look "through" it. This is the type usually in the Magic Eye books.

You might be able to tell what this one is without even seeing the shape but it still looks awesome.
