what kinda card should i look for? I want to have my desktop play some newer games, and the video card is really the only element i have that is seriously lacking right now.

Just bought an XFX nvidia 9800 gt 512mb in december for my rig for about 110...shit works good

Case and power supply would be helpful as well, but the motherboard and cpu were the most important things to know. Also, do you have any other expansion cards that might be in the way? If you let us know what sort of physical and electrical headroom you have, we should be able to recommend something.

The nVidia 9-series cards are very good. I'd recommend purchasing from Newegg.

It would help to know your power supply ratings and the resolution you'd want to play your games at, as well as which games you're planning on running with it. Budget would be nice too Very Happy
