After 38 years, I quit biting my finger nails! Very Happy

At least going on 3 weeks now. Razz

... and NO, its not because I switched to dentures. Wink

Same here. Biting fingernails is nowhere near as bad as biting toenails, and I know people that do that. It's really... interesting to watch.

yea, clipping makes mine ragged - then i'd just bite to "smooth them" and the hangnails. Razz

Filing seems to bee the way to go. I dont feel especially masculine but it is about as quick as clipping and much cleaner.

I hear ya Bunny, long drives were my downfall...

Yea, people tell me how many germs are there and blah blah. I just hate clipping them. And if you don't clip then, then they get black dirt or something under it.

I tried filing when I was a wee lad. I don't really like the sound the file makes or the feeling I get as it scratches across my nails.

I'm doomed. I guess I could be addicted to worse things like crack.

Mike you may be alien - I know you can taste some nasty shit biting nails, ear wax has got to be the worst surprise...also brake cleaner almost killed me once when I bit a nail that I forgot was greasy Rolling Eyes

I don't bite mine either, I clip them.

I have to have mine with a couple mm of white nail showing otherwise my fingers get tender and split and bleed. Plus nails come in handy for shit, they are like our claws, I use mine often for prying and shit.

ooo! I have a nasty story I had forgotten.

I bit a hang nail too far back and the area under my thumbnail had swollen with infection. When I pushed on it at my friends house (maybe like 11 years old) a super tight jet of puss shot straight up. My friend laughed, and there was plently of puss left, so I did my best to write my initials on his ceiling. Razz

It was kind of like gleeking. Im a gleeker too. Very Happy

Learned how to make myself do it on purpose. Gleek at will FTW!

I quit biting my nails when I was 10 years old. I just think it's so gross that people bite their nails.

One of my friends use to bite her nails a lot, so one night her dad put tobasco sauce underneath her nail, and I think she stopped the habbit.

That's funny, if my dad did that to me, I'd get him back by putting tabasco sauce under his nails too!

And by "putting tabasco sauce under" I mean "pouring gasoline on" and by "his nails too" I mean "his house and lighting it on fire while he sleeps".
