Finally got my compy back in place and guess what? No video signal! Hooray. Fucking christ I want to stab some people, namely myself - this is not the first time this has happened.

I need a cheap video card. I need anything that's on par with a solid GeForce 6800 XT which was my last card that ran BFP great.

The 7 and 8 series GFX cards are getting cheaper f you're interested in those, there's quite a bit of selection these days.

I think it'll be less powerful than an 6800XT substantially, but it should be fine if you just want to play BF42/BF2/Source games.

Don't expect high detail settings for many games, though.

Yeah, I realized that - I thought it'd be more powerful. I was really surprised to learn how expensive the 6800XT's still are ... it's like $130+ for one .. STILL!

So fuck :-/ I get great framerates with BF1942 as it is, but not great framerates with CS:S ... so if I'm downgrading, I'm kinda worried. :-/

Any suggestions?

Seems like a good value, though I've never heard of Zotac. Positive reviews are good. If you can manage $10 more, you can get an 8400GS series from the same manufacturer:

You should look at graphics cards that are still in production, such as the Geforce 8-series. 6800's are expensive because they are antique.
