Quote:
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the lab
Curious and playful turrets had ceased their charming gab;

The stockings were hung by the portals with care,
In hopes that crafty players would port themselves there;

The Rabbids were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of motion-control danced in their heads;

And Princess in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just overcome Bowser's devious trap,

When out in the living room there arose such a clatter,
I triple-jumped from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to my gaming chair I flew like a flash,
Downloading goodies, wasting my cash.

The Marketplace was abreast with new-found content,
With for-pay pictures and themes I would surely lament

When, what to my eyes should appear in a pinch,
But a brand new demo of Gerstmann-gate's Kane and Lynch,

A controversy so lively and quick,
Just the game journalism bomb waiting to tick.

But I figured I'd best not assign any blame,
So I looked under the tree for another new game.

Upon checking the stash my eyes went aflutter:
A copy of Rock Band to melt faces like butter!

"Now, Nirvana! now, Aerosmith! Now, Pixies and Stones!
On, Flyleaf! On Bowie! On, Clash and Ramones!

To the top of the set! We'll five star them all!
Now rock away! Rock away! Rock away all!"

But Rock Band could not sate my gaming greed,
I rummaged and rifled, unearthing Assassin's Creed,

Jumping from rooftops deep in the heart of the city,
I bested each of my marks without a sliver of pity.

Still not enough, I cried, and to the presents I darted,
This time unwrapping "Drake's Fortune": Uncharted.

Dodging and shooting at all the pirates around,
I overcame the environment with each glorious bound.

Now the presents were unwrapped through and through,
Until I managed to find a copy of Mass Effect too;

Hours later, as Shepard, across the entire galaxy I'd been,
In search of the infamous alien lesbian sex scene.

And so the night went on in endless gaming,
Bounties of game discs ready for the taming.

Hours of Halo 3 brought me to my knees,
Recalling the commercial: Chopin's eternal melodies.

And then delving into Bioshock to learn Andrew's fate,
To harvest or save the sisters was an endless debate.

Alternating my rocking with Guitar Hero 3,
Five-starring Dragonforce for the greatest glee.

Later getting new perks in Call of Duty 4,
Before finding new downloads on the PlayStation Store.

In this endless bounty of games my head was aswim
Playing through the night, my face all agrin.

And so I leave you now in the dull television light,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

my most exciting item was an hd3850 to fill out the rig i had bought myself earlier in the year (amd 5000+ black, 2 gig ddr2800, amd 690g matx board, asus q-pack case).

how about everyone else?

Some DVDs, some games, a model airplane, new watch and an M3 for my DS(basically means I'll never have to pay for another DS game). Not a bad haul.

This year, I got to experience something I've joked about for some time. It's funny how you respond to different gifts at different ages.

Age 10: Aw, man...... Socks.
Age 26: Oh, man! Socks!

They were Gold Toes too. Woohoo!

That was all in one bundle from tiger. Made it easy to put one thing on the list. Extra watts = 2x 8800GT SLI? Very Happy Maybe in a little while. Also, I forgot the 22" Acer LCD at 1680x1050.

I definitely was on the nice list this year. Thumbs up

You should definitely upgrade that processor to a Core 2 Duo before you get 2x 8800GT. Razz

Yeah, I'm looking at the E2200. It's supposed to OC like crazy. I'd probably have to go with DDR2 800 to do it though. Right now it's running great though.

Messy Recipe:  sry about the bots :( been busy & havent gotten round to doing the usual cleanup

need to prolly stick this behind cloudflare or something

Drunken Monkey:  doing well, been building a hobby ranch of my own, got married, no kids, only dogs, sheep and a horse

Comradekil:  so anyway, i wonder how everyone's lives all progressed.. who's in jail? who's grandparents now.. ha life
Drunken Monkey:  and yes....i do miss 1942 aswell, i honestly think it is what drove me to get a M1 garand in real live, and is still my most used rifle
Drunken Monkey:  bots are getting silly
Comradekil:  Sup dudes
Messy Recipe:  the BAR-1918 always felt so good in that game
Messy Recipe:  I miss vanilla 1942 as much as Pirates... need to see if the Origin version (or even original) still has anyone playing sometime
Stealth:  Hello all! Head to the lounge and post a memory!
Stealth:  I saw a BF1942 fraps video of a guy jumping out of a plane and RPG'd another plane. I immediately came here for nostalgia. Miss you all.
Messy Recipe:  I've not tried Sea of Thieves... kinda was bummed to learn its servers don't allow many simultaneous players. gimme 32v32 galleon fights

Drunken Monkey:  merry Christmas you lot
[BB]Piccolo:  Anybody playing Sea of Thieves?
[BB]Piccolo:  I'm amazed I actually still knew my login. We Black Buccaneers certainly had a special relationship with you Cut Throats. Nothing like a fierce rivalry to make the battlefield exciting, eh? :)
