The one I had went "whatever that word" and since I was thinking of upgrading this year, I might as well start with a new monitor.

I was thinking of getting a widescreen this time around.

I wouldn't get wide screen if you do a lot of fast paced gaming- it can screw you up. Looks nice for movies, editing, MMO's etc., though. Complimented with a powerful video card, you can also get high resolutions that look good.

Excellent for gaming, but bad viewing angles and relatively low contrast ratio-

Dell's latest are pretty appealing to me. They're HDCP compliant, so if you ever use it to watch HD movies, you're good to go and the specs on them are pretty nice. Just make sure its got a low response time.

That's a great monitor too if you've got the cash, but I would go with at least the VX922 if you are on a tight budget.
