Now that was fun... wish the demo i found was more than 60mins though.

Apparently i'm good at destroying my engine and being the first one black flagged, think the red mist must've come down...

I never tried Carmageddon but heard it was pretty fun.

It does take some getting used to driving but then the cars are totally predictable. They all drive differently and have different characteristics. In the full game you also get hearse, station wagon, old fashioned (ZZ top) kinds of cars and get larger fights. I cant get Gamespy to work though which seriously reduces the ongoing fun factor though. Evil or Very Mad

The key is not to be too agresssive *hit walls or destroying yourself against others*. You cannot destroy all the other cars yourself - Lordy I have tried. Mad

Also, hitting cars against the walls is as bad as hitting the wall. I try to avoid the fender to fender hits altogether and only take the side shot opportunities (wheels and doors).

You have to use some old EA tools for F-1 but modding is pretty easy too. You just cant use pink for the cars. Razz

If you like games like that you should try Flat Out & Flat Out2. Really nice games. FO2 has multiplayer(FO1 also does, but you have to do something weird stuff to get it working).

You can buy FO2 through Steam for 20$(it's new game came this year), but you can also get it from store and without needing Steam.

Whoa!

Flat Out is on a wholly different level judging by screenies. I will have to try to grab a demo.

Demo Derby is just a charming campy little simple kind of game. Very Happy

Just 8 cars in a mudhole, or 12-16 in arena. Razz

EDIT: found demo for FO1. Dl'n now. Extra games looks nutty (e.g., driver darts). Razz

EDIT: FO is definitely more polished and glitz. But it just doesn't have that gritty personal feel Demo Derby has. Very Happy

Yeah it might feel different. I haven't tried FO2 yet, but by the reviews it should be alot better.

Those games are really fun to play at lans.
