Well this may not solve all of your needs, but it may help.

This little program will tell you a lot about your system. Things like what kind of processor you have. What memory you should use etc.

This can be used for those who can't figure out what to do, but don't wanna feel too helpless. At least this can help. =)
-----------

Mini Tutorial:

Your processor is listed here on this tab next to specifications.

It indicates the manufacture, what type and how fast it can process information. In this case, 2.8 GHz.

The Processor Selection is if you have dual core technology, which obviously I do.

Then for your memory number that you should use, is listed in the SPD tab where it says Max Bandwidth. My memory would need a PC4300. It could also have another number as well (I forgot what it was off hand), but I just told you that so that you know that if another technician tells you to use a different type, you'd understand.

That concludes the mini tut. Please sticky. =D

And for those of you who want some information, but don't care what your L2 cache or FSB are, start->run->dxdiag Smile
