I have thought about buying this game, but I'm not so sure can my computer run it wihtout huge drawbacks.

AMD Athlon 2ghz
Nvidia GF6600GT
1gb DDR-RAM

I know the minium system specs, but I would like to know will it run ok on low-medium settings. And I also get Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War with it as extra, so it would be a good deal.

And no, I don't think I will use whole day to download 10gb demo that lasts 10 seconds max.

edit. And are these two games really good that you can lose your miserably life on them?

Trust me, get the demo before you buy it.

Just do it.

I didn't buy it yet, but it can run fast enough for me at 1 gig of ram and a radeon x1300.

You can test your computer with this. It sees if you can run the game. =)

Those tests can be unreliable.

Finally tried the demo Laughing .

It was sweet and now I'm downloading the game through Steam. I love how tanks can roam down anything. I almoust shitted myself when I mined all the gates around yard to stop tanks and finally realizing they just roamed through the threnches and pinned down my defenseless infantry.

I'm just wondering that is the Dawn Of War also worth getting(+expansions)?

Dawn of War came out before Company of Heroes,so Company of Heroes is a more polished game but if you like the settings behind Dawn of War its worth it.

I agree with the demo idea. There have been a few too many WWII shooters out in the past few years. I couldn't finish Brothers In Arms because I got so bored with it. Graphics don't impress everyone the way they used to and squad based single player games have been done too, not to mention the whole massive online thing by BF42. The only thing that would make COH stand out from the crowd at this point would be if it ends up being that much better than everyone else at what they've already done. WWII has become its own genre, just like Star Wars, and both need to be given a break.

*psst* Company of Heroes is an RTS, though it's quite a lot better than any other WW2 ones out

It just shows how little interest I have in the war theme these days. I always thought that game was supposed to be another FPS. Isn't Axis and Allies supposed to be the big WWII RTS on the market?

This game has some unique things that others don't. And only rts's I would compare is Blitzkrieg, even tho. this isn't as realistic. More of like mix of Blitzkrieg and Ground Control. Only thing I don't like is the way armours(tanks) control and how they move. Little more depth to them, so they would be in the line of infantry combat, would have made this game even better. Now they just ram infront of the enemy tanks and doesn't really matter are you moving or not, placed you tank in good position, attack behind the enemy tank ect.

And you can't just compare every WW2 game out there and say they are the same. Check BF42 and then go to CoD, and then watch BiA and say are they all the same. WW2 is, like you said, a historical genre of the biggest war mankind has ever had, and most likely will ever have. It's so large that even with all those WW2 games(rts, fps...) there is still things to find and different fronts to play. Most of the WW2 games are based on Normandy and little to none on eastern front, everyone doesn't even know what countries fought and against who, just that Allies won at Normandy.

I have played WW2 games for years and still find them intresting, hell WW2 games are the only ones I currently play(RO, CoH). I find the whole WW2 so fascinating that no matter how many times I hear about it I still find it intresting. I like my clumsy tanks, bolt-rifles and gritty feel of WW2 in my games!

Oh and yeah...game is good Thumbs up
