I'm on my second ipod already which was replaced for free under warranty. My first ipod lasted about 6 months and my current one has also lasted two months. The ipod locks up when i try to play a song when it is not hooked up to my computer. When it is connected I cannot access it at all, if I try it locks up whatever window I am trying to access it with.
I've already tried contacted HP but they want me to pay $300 bucks to get this fixed which is bullshit in my opinion.

I've already been through 3 shuffles in the past two years. Ipods are trash.
I would try looking for firmware updates for it and installing those. _________________ You do not say that the wheel is fatigued, yet the body is as material as the wheel

iPods are most sertainly not trash...I've had mine for over a year and haven't had a problem with it yet, and I have many friends who have had theirs for awhile and have had no problems

Put it under the tire of a big truck or maybe even a tractor, run over it repeatedly while videotaping. Post it for us to enjoy, or contact HP with a copy and blackmail them into a free one. _________________

Apple will only tell you to contact HP, who will than tell you to try this:

Only to tell you this when that^ doesn't work:

Ipod's are truely the best mp3 player I have seen out there, and i have seen and used a lot of them. They are for the most part reliable and they just set the standard for everyone else. However they are made by apple, and well...... I don't like apple. In summary getting an Ipod is like trying to pick a ripe apple when you are blind. Most of them are good, reliable, dependant; however there are a few shitty rotten ones that will break on you for no apparant reason. Than Apple will dick you out of tech support, and say well HP helped too, make them replace it. Than HP will say well apple doesn't want to warranty their product why the hell should we? And you will be forced into the situation you are in.
Your best bet is to buy a new one. I have had mine for 2 years, and I keep it in my dash of my truck. It endures those 10 degree temperatures in the winter and the 110 degree summer afternoons in the sun. I have never had a problem with it, and I absolutely love it. On the other hand my sister had her's for a few months, the hard drive fucked up, she called apple. Apple pointed a finger at HP and HP pointed one at apple. In the end she got screwed out of an Ipod with a defective HDD(a known problem with the HP line).
Just hope you don't get a bad one, or do without. _________________ Submit to Milky Way

If your really tech savy and have a few bucks you can build yourself a mini computer with a touch screen and put that in your car. Talk about pimp. _________________ Submit to Milky Way

More emphasis on "a few bucks" please. In-car computers cost a metric fuckton. _________________ is now -=|CT|=- Frothy Mixture
