This is actually a two-part: first an example of what im talking about, then the discussion. We're talking about the worst ways to die, video-game style.

I dont neccesarily agree with the ranks on this video, but heres some good examples:

More like spawning prone facing a enemy claymore, and staring it down knowing the second you move you die.

Well I know a couple. First sword fighting in bfp and your opponent jumps on a falc and blasts you(hahahaha that's funny as shit).

Also getting rebarred in Wasteland sucks.

Personally, I always thought that the worst possible death in a platformer type game was dying of time. It's like a huge insult. Hey you're doing well in avoiding those obstacles, but you took too long doing it so you're dead.

More than once I have committed suicide down a hole in Mario to avoid the dreaded time death.

-Getting your jaw pried open like a clam and snapped. (King Kong)

-Getting stuck by a tounge, swallowed, then pooped out as an egg. As humiliating as that is, you then become the cause of your buddy's demise as you get thrown and smashed against his face. (Yoshi)

In a DoomII like game called Heretic, in deathmatch mode you could throw an egg at other players thereby turning them into chickens. I was once pecked to death by a gaggle of foes. {shudders}

On the subject of chickens, I remember that if you kept attacking chickens in the original Zelda a whole flock of them would peck you to death.
