Why on earth would you do it pixel by pixel. Less mistakes, yeah, but that's what the "step backward/undo" feature is for. Seems like a lot of effort for something you could have done quicker :/

My pattern I used:
Magic Wand - Fill - Deselect - get the edges inside with a brush - get the edges outside of selected area that it missed.

Well it was basically pixel by pixel because I used the Magic Wand and due to the different line weights (had to adjust the tolerance), then I had to adjust use Ctrl click to add more and it would borderline it. Sometimes it wouldn't pick up, other times it would. I had to use a color to make it more smooth since the Magic Wand didn't pick it up. Magic Lasso really sucked.

However, zooming up to it made it narrow places like a few pixels wide so I was forced to use 1 px only there.

Once I filled in anything, there would be very crummy spots that inside of the area selected that didn't color the same as the others. So I had to go over those. Then the edges didn't get selected. I fixed a lot of those edges while I went to make sure I got over the lines. Then finally, I put up a white background layer below all the other layers to see for any spots I missed. There was a lot :/ So I drew over those spots on the last layer.

But anyways, I like the outcome although the hood makes me feel like it's doing this patchy type thing.
