and pretty easy to use if you're good in paint. I have used flash and if you're doing things like turning movies into gifs, its the way to go. not sure about imageready, but it is pretty popular so I don't think you could go wrong with it.

yes, publish settings: you can choose .gif,flashplayer,.avi,Quicktime, etc, etc...
