BF2 issue x2

The bastard crashes everytime the map finishes loading and I click "join game". I dunno wtf is going on. I disabled all firewalls, and still get the same thing. Any ideas?

Ok, weird. It must have been xfire/the server. I can connect fine to other servers. :/

It happened to me when I had 512Mb Ram, I bought 1Gb and no more problems.

BF2 seems to fuck with everyone's computer in different ways.

As I told you, I can't join by double clicking on the shortcut. But if I join through xfire and when the map loads, just press escape to get back to the menu....

It works fine. :/

lol mine crashed today on the end of map[load and then I doubled clicked it again, only to realize I didn't want to join that way so i ended the process and that didn't work, it kept on running untill an error, and when i tried to start it again normally it got the same error 5 min after trying to start. so after I restarted my comp it did the same thing, but it seems that 1942 won't end process now either.

I think something on my comp is messed up

Stealth, you must have something wrong with your shortcut, be sure this is the source for it:

Code:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +playNow 1 +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

Should be like that if you didn't change anything when installed it.

Oh no, it gets ingame fine. It's the login that kills me. You put in the password and username and you basically sit there FOREVER. No progress what so ever. I even left it over night just to see if it was trying.

my comp used to freeze randomly, about every 45 mins during bf2. the comp needed to have the power button held in to make it turn off.
i think buying special forces fixed it, but i haven't played much as the game has pissed me off.

I know it was plagued with memory leaks during its infancy, but they seem to have resolved most of that by now. It still takes me for fricken ever to connect to the account server to log in, though.

Well, I've reinstalled BF2 couple times, maybe it has something to do with it.

lol as funny as it sounds reinstalling it is your best option to fix any problems, but with it you have the tradeoff of knowing that 33% you do this you will get another bf2 error, most likely worst than the initial one you started with

Which is exactly why I'd rather deal with it. =) Plus I know a work around to get to what I want. So it's all good.
