Valve is being gay Sad

it opens up in 4 different windows during startup, Regular steam news and to mysterious windows that cannot be maximized. Also NOTHING loads up in the browsers when it tries to load content/news/etc.....

Also when I tried to create a new single player mod using the SDK it goes through and starts processing the files, but always has a fatal error when it is 80% of the way done. crashing everything steam related, it seems I can run any of the games fine, but steam is not recognized in x-fire so I cannot join through that either.

I have tried re-installing it before, and that did not work, just now I uninstalled every mod and steam then went through and deleted as many valve folders I could find, then went to the site downloaded and re-installed and it still is fucked up Sad

any ideas?

I had the same issue with the 80% crash thing for the mod making...

I did get past it though! Very Happy

I am trying to recall what I did... I think I deleted the ALL new mod files and restarted. I then started Steam (always manual) and re-installed all the mod tools. I then re-created the mod folders. My error was a corrupt set of tools I believe.

Hopefully that helps...

talk to valve support. those guys are really good, even though it may take a few days for you to get an answer.
