So yeah, I have a wireless internet connection. Everytime I boot up Windows normally and get to the desktop, the moment my adapter fully connects to the internet, my computer just freezes. It works fine when I boot it up in safe mode though. I'm guessing it might be some driver issue with the wireless adapter. I use a Netgear WPN111,

which worked fine till now....

Thoughts? I am clueless :s.

EDIT: I tried another older wireless card. It does the same thing, so maybe it's not just that one...

hmm try to boot your comp with the conection disabled......then if it boots, enable the conection........if that works, just make sure you disable the conection every time before you shut down the comp.

try a... system restore? Razz

that's my solution to everything

edit: the topmost review of that product at the link you posted says..

This product (and other Netgear wireless adapters) cause BSODs and hangs on systems with VIA chipsets. I'll be returning my adapter shortly now that I figured out what's been freezing my system for the last week.

Update the chipset drivers, and perhaps the drivers for the card itself.

I tried updating the chipset drivers, same problem. Maybe if I try uninstalling the software for the older card, it might solve it..

EDIT: That's not working either...

can you open the taskmanager when it freezes or is it totally locked down?

if it will open, see what you have running in processes under your user name, sounds a bit like spyware
