A Problem?

Hey, long time since ive posted in here but I need some help

I downloaded a mod for RTW (all playable races) from a trusted site (normally no virusses)

now I downloaded this file to my desktop, no problems yet, unzip the file to another folder and when I try to delete the file by pressing on my destop by pressing "Delete" my mouse changes into the hourglass and shortly after that my comp freezes, then I try right clicking the file and same thing, hourglass and freeze

I have no Idea how to get rid of this thing

How'd you delete it? I have this program on my other machine that I cannot ever get rid of it. It says the process has to be exited, so one day I just quit them all but the main ones and it still said the same thing.

You can't uninstall it, b/c it's an installer. It's not a known virus, I've scanned it with many types of software.

I've tried going into safe mode and deleting it that way. That doesn't work... I tried to just move it into another folder just so it can get off the desktop, but it made a copy and now I can't delete either of them. :/

never ever download to your desktop, always put it in a folder. Like for example, in your My Documents folder....create a folder called downloads

Try Zipping it into a zip file, then open that Zip file and while in the Zip file click "Delete" it will delete the zip file, thats how I deleted my file, hope that helps

why b/c I have been doin that a lot lately just for a quick delete after installing.
either that or a folder on the desktop?

whatever you have on the desktop Windows has to keep track of more intensely than if it were just filed away in a folder. Add those whole programs to all the shortcuts and crap and Windows is keeping track of a lot of stuff on the desktop and we all know how that usually ends up....every few months you're formatting that sucker aren't ya Wink
