I listen to just about everything that qualifies as music, which excludes rap. What's been playin on my ipod within the last few weeks:

Boys Night Out - "Trainwreck" album, it's a pretty cool concept album
Portugal. The Man - "How the Leopard Got It's Spots"
Robert Johnson - "Hell Hound On My Trail"
Sherwood - "The Town That You Live In"
Jack Johnson - "Banana Pancakes" (GG to slaughter, phag)
Coheed & Cambria - "The Velourium Camper I: Faint Of Hearts"
Box Car Racer - "I Feel So"
The Bad Plus - "These Are the Vistas" album
And the "Hi My Name is Mark" podcast Razz

Oh, and The Raconteurs are pretty cool too, it's Jack White's new band/side project.

i listen to a shit load of music but who doesnt nowadays

my music interests came in waves. first i liked just simple classic rock in the 5th grade adn it has grown more adn more diverse since then

ill listne to anything now as long as its not hardcore or screamo

lately

Why?
Sage Francis
Gorecki

Gorrillaz
Godspeed you! black emporer
neko case
Phoenix
RJd2
the streets
radio head
Nick cave and the bad seeds
The Go! team
Gavin Bryars
DJ Dangermouse
Bloc party

but then i lkistened to the same stuff for wayy too long and it got to the point where i couldnt stand listening to it. so i spent a week listening to classical music only and i cleansed my body adn i suddenly i enjoyed eveyrthing much more

i mainly lsitened to Gorecki's symphony III by the polish national orchestra its fucking aammmaazziinngggg
philip glass has amazing classical music toob ut its much more modern adn minimalist.

but when it comes to straight up shit that everyone can enjoy

BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE i fucking love these guys its a symphony of amazing rock check out these guys for some of the most amazing shit youve ever heard. 7/4 shoreline is a good one as is Major Label Debut.

theres still plenty of good rap out there although alot of peole give rap alot of shit cause alot of it is shit. most of the rap out there is all shit liek chammillionaire which fuckign sucks balls adne very beat sounds the same

Dude thank you.

I heard Steady as she goes on the radio the other day, and I loved it, but I forgot the name of the band they said it was from.

Well if you really want to know I can list all my 11072 songs yea all 77GB

But to be honest I listen to everything depending on my mood.

Right now I like a lot of mellow background music that doesn't take away from what your doing. I recommend:

Jack Johnson all his stuff (yea he is mainstream and blah blah blah. but he is good and a great listen to play in the background)

DMB (Dave) They are great they ramble and you don't know what their sayiong, but that's the point, they got a great rythym and beat, and the lyrics flow

Also nothing like a little rap to get you pumped.
T.I. (What Chu kno bout dat? <3 ATL)
Chamillionaire (ridin, turn it up)
Bone Thugz
and all the other classics Pac, etc, etc.....

And you always have to mix in a little classic rock from Elton John to Def Leppard.

It wouldn't really make any sense for me to post songs, I listen to a lot of different music:

Frank Zappa, Tom Waits, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, The Doors, Dire Straits, ELP, Allman Brothers, Captain Beefheart, Mingus, Monk, Corea, Count Basie, Dylan, Beatles, Velvet Underground, Queen, Sigur Rs, Phish, Neil Young, Mr. Bungle, Modest Mouse, Led Zeppelin, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Kaizers Orchestra and King Crimson to name a few...
