Cut Throat Baseball - Season 2 Signups

Ahoy! If you'd like me to make a character on me new team of pirates, post so here Smile

EDIT: Please post and do not edit, so I don't lose track Very Happy

If you were on the old team you can reclaim your old position Very Happy

What I need:
1) Two-part char name - For example, "Wang Chung" is a valid name. Use your real name or whatever, it jus has to be in two parts. In many cases it will be abbreviated
2) Rough dimensions / appearance - height, weight, eyes, hair etc?
3) Primary position spot, secondary position spot - note, pitchers are only pitchers, and that's that.
4) Handedness (Bat L/R/S, Throw L/R)
5) Any other baseball tendencies, miscellania or minutia?

Position Signups - There are 25 baseball players on a roster. If 7 of them are pitchers, that leaves 18 field positions.

1. Pitchers - I need 4-5 starting pitchers, 2-3 relievers and a closer. Roughly 7-9 pitchers in total.

Famous starters you may know: Sandy Koufax, Nolan Ryan, Randy Johnson, Roger Clemens, Curt Schilling, Pedro Martinez

Famous relievers you may know: Jesus

Famous closers you may know: Mariano Rivera, Trevor Hoffman, Dennis Eckersley, John Franco

2. Catcher - Usually a big strong guy with a good arm and a good head, but rarely ever fast.

Famous catchers you may know: Gary Carter, Johnny Bench, Yogi Berra, Carlton Fisk, Mike Piazza, Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez

3. First Baseman - Usually the team's "Power Hitter" or Slugger. Probably the worst fielding ability of any player on the team, and usually sucks terribly at throwing. Most big ripped steroid guys play first

Famous first basemen you may know: Mark McGwire, Jason Giambi, Rafael Palmeiro, Kent Hrbek, Lou Gehrig, Derrek Lee, Albert Pujols

4. Second Baseman - Usually also a powerful guy, but needs to be speedier than a 1B and much better in the field and needs good range. Needs to be very agile to turn double plays. 2B is a rough position Smile

Second basemen you may know: Joe Morgan, Ryne Sandberg, Jeff Kent, Bill Mazeroski

2B(b) Fred. McFarland (2shoes)

5. Third Base - Usually an outfielder who wasn't quite fast enough, a third baseman needs to have the best arm of anyone on the infield. They need a quick glove and a good dive, but don't have to be too fast. They usually have to be a versatile hitter but more powerful than an SS.

Third basemen you may know: Brooks Robinson, Mike Schmidt, George Brett, Alex Rodriguez, Scott Rolen, Wade Boggs, Paul Molitor

3B Chase Madison
3B(b) Kelsey Noland

6. Shortstop - One of the best athletes on the field. Practically needs to have the range of the 2B and the throwing arm of the 3B. Usually great hitters too, with much versatility.

Shortstops you probably know: Derek Jeter, Cal Ripken, Alex Rodriguez, Phil Rizzuto, Robin Yount, Honus Wagner, and baseball's greatest infielder, Ozzie Smith, and apparently Ryne Sandberg :O

7. Left field - The well rounded outfielder. Usually a quick guy with some zip and an above-average arm.

Left fielders you may know: Barry Bonds, Hideki Matsui, Rickey Henderson, Manny Ramirez, Ralph Kiner, Ted Williams

LF: PJ Breitwieser

8. Center Field - The best outfielder on the team perhaps. Needs a good arm, but usually has to cover more open ground than the other outfielders and has no foul ground to negotiate with.

Center fielders you may know: Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Johnny "The Caveman" Damon, Ken Griffey Jr, Ty Cobb and the late Kirby Puckett

CF: Special Jimmy

9. Right field - The right fielder is usually as fast as the left fielder, but the speed can be sacrified as long as he has the ultra important arm strength. On a fly ball to rightfield, a runner can tag up on second and proceed to first if the right fielder's arm isn't sufficient. The right fielder is usually a shitty ball handler, since most hitters are righty and pull the ball to left field.

Right fielders you may know: Vladimir Guererro (prototype IMHO), Gary Sheffield, Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Reggie Jackson, Roberto Clemente

RF: Sprite Dude
