Ha! No porn stash for you!

Actually, I wanted a cool title, but had no idea what to call this. I'll be going to ETSU on Friday and hopefully will get accepted into that college. But now for the cool stuff.

On Monday, I'm going to Regional Competitions in Technical Drafting. "Hopefully" I will know enough about AutoCAD in order to steal first place Smile So I'm looking for a LOT of luck in that department. I'm taking my computer tommorow to school and the County I reside in are paying for a copy of AutoCAD as long as I attend the competition. I'd be mainly using there's, but still... I could keep it always.

If I take first, I have a chance to go to State Competitions and chances for a LOT of scholarships, so I'm really pulling for this... considering I'm a lazy ass and never signed up for that many scholarships. Smile

Once I get AutoCAD, I just found out that you can extract models from it and making ANY model would be a piece of cake. I mean I like make freakin' clamps and I'll show yall what I've been making to practice for competitions once I have the program installed on here.

However... I would just have to make the animations in Maya or another program like 3DS Max. It may take some tries, with adjusting the scales, etc. But If I work hard at it, I could use AutoCAD Daily and could participate in other activities.

So that's meh upcoming weekend. So if ya don't see me, that's where I'll be at. Smile I should be here on Sat. and Sun.

It'd be so pimp to use AutoCad to make models, I'm REALLY excited to do that since AutoCad is mainly used for dimensions. Then ya subtract and add parts to it in order to make the shape whole.

I got AutoCAD certified - but used it for building circuit cards (not really 3D stuff - Mechanical Desktop was their 3D app back then). I did build a cool spaceship model but it got so big/complex it would crash the school's PCs. Razz

I start Maya classes next week myself. College FTW! Mine is at an art school though Rolling Eyes. So it should be an 'interesting' experience...

I could probably help with the 2d part if you need it so feel free to ask. Good luck winning some ca$h! Very Happy

you can dew eeet!!

I'm certified myself....maybe even certifiable Laughing ....but seriously, i've been using 3D CAD for years now Mechanical Desktop, Inventor, Solidworks, this new freebie called Alibre which can be liscensed and has a sheet metal package and the like...it is actually much like a mixture between Inventor and Solidworks.

If any of you are interested in 3D CAD, the Alibre free download has amazing functionality for a free software and it is very simple to use
