but yeah, and it takes ~ 10 bullets to kill someone... 3 or so in the head to kill them... Duck Hunt for the NES was more realistic

I used this to understand the weapon damage for the vehicles. All BFP weapons and vehicles use these numbers.

As for realism: I dont mind games like Star Wars where it takes a bunch of hits because you are using a "blaster technology" and folks are armored or robots, etc. But if you are playing real people and using real weapons then realism is to be expected.

The play where eveything is so random makes it less fun too. Charge up the middle and its a coin toss. Sneak your ass off and shoot someone from behind and it is STILL a coin toss. bleh...

I think much of it is also random chance.....reminds me of Half-Life. Some days you are killing at will, other days your weapons are useless. Some days the LA85 will drop them all, some days I have to use the SCAR. I have noticed that the Jackhammer is that way also...certain days I can kill single shot from a good thirty yards, others ,guys get the drop on me point blank.

I never really experienced it much in BF, but in HL I did...probably because there were no vehicles and the like......anyone else ?

Yes. I roll with the L85 ALOT and its how you say it is... sometimes I'm shooting cigarettes out of mouths @ distance, then there are times I can't get a decent grouping on a stationary target while I'm prone?!?!?! I believe this is #37 of 1000 on my Top Reasons to Slay an EA Exec List. Rolling Eyes

As for your tank hits on an APC, Shoes:

A-- He could have had an engineer working on him.
B-- Maybe a vehicle near him with an engineer in it.
C-- He was next to a supply box.
D-- Maybe you just hit him in his most armored spots.
E-- Ur a noob. Or your shooting blanks... which is not great.
F-- He's a haxor, and you've been pwned. (sorry if it happened on our server)

It could be any one, or, a combination of them...
