BUT! If they can recognize you as a cowboy... then they know you herd cows! 0.0 They would think your like keeper of the gods Laughing

But the chances of them knowing what a cowboy is = slim

LIVE FROM MUMBAI -

So 2 days of driving around Bombai (Mumbai) and I'm totally blown away by the sites and sounds. There are these cabs called "Auto-rickshaws" that seem to be everywhere, they dart in and out of traffic all like a Hindi version of "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride". There really are no traffic laws and even fewer Indian police to enforce them. Vehicles just dart in and out of traffic, sometime even going against red lights and opposite oncoming traffic, in fact most drivers dont's stay between lanes in the highway they just squeeze by wherever they can.

The thing you see in Bombay that really hits you hard are the massive numbers of homeless poor lving in their own filth, yea there are nice neighborhoods, but from my hotel we get to drive through the poorer areas. The number of homeless (data from my driver) is... 6 million... let me say that again... 6 million...

You see them everywhere by the side of the road. One homeless area is called Asia (or Asa). It runs along the river (brown water from pollution) - the tents are right next to each other 40 yards wide up from the river bank without a break for sunlight on both sides of the river for miles and miles.

Yet Indians have such an indomitable spirit it's really quite amazing to see them smiling and waving when they see me filming them.

My cab driver works 7 days a week and gets 2 days off a month, usually 12 - 14 hours a day, yet he is very happy because he goes to his village (in the eastern part of India) for 1 month every year.

There is such a respect for elders here (hey even including me) that it's really something youth in the US could learn from Indian kids.

I have lots of pics but unfortunately I don't have a way to upload them (the stinkin device I brought to do that isn't working right.

Look for more posts and links over the next 10 days...

From what I found, the place has 12 million people in the city, and 45-48% are homeless. That equates to roughly 5.58 million homeless!!!!!!

My wife dealt w/ a bunch of the off-shore folks that are working for them from there also. They came over here though instead of her going there. She said they were all really great also.

Actually almost 13 million, and with all suburbs 18 or 19.

A little perspective: The Population of New York is 19 million
the population of NY City is 8 Million.

I can't even imagine that many homeless
