my grandmas neighbor has a federal firearms license and he has fully auto weapons but the piece de resistance is his SVD dragunov sniper rifle straight from nam his brother pulled it from a dead gook in 70

niiiiiiice (ive wanted one of those forever)

and actually to classify my ak right now is impossible since i dun really have an ak, just the parts kit (all the parts, sans the reciever)

so when i make my reviever & assemble everything, i then have the choice of whether the lever goes only from safe to semi, or all the way up to auto

but quite frankly, i cant think of a possible use for an automatic ak.... even for going into battle, itd be worthless & wouldnt hit a damn thing (this is also why the us military stopped issuing m-16's that fired full auto, it was just wasting ammo)

Yeah i didnt figure sloppy assembly would impact the bullet/barrel mating.

I could see controlling (kinda...) an m-16 in full auto - it barely kicks. Not most guns though... I think the statistic out of Vietnam was like 0.5% hits. Razz

I think those were still m-14s through most of it though. I put a 30 shot clip on my ruger 10-22 auto. DAMN close to slo-mo auto. That worked fine - but just a .22. I would look down the sights to get the first shot close then follow the dirt puffs. Po-boy tracer fire ftw! Very Happy

That sniper rifle is tits - it just looks evil... You couldnt help feeling the part of the killer stalking around with that... Twisted Evil

I like playing with auto but like the confidence of my bolt for hunting. I like the no-frills .357 revolver for home defense. No "oh... did i leave the safety on?" crap. Just keep squeezing the trigger til you get action. Very Happy

Back to U.S. Navy... I proposed they put a CWIS mast on submarines. They need surface/anti-anti-sub helo capability. They dont let you short torpedos any more and they even took away te Harpoons!!! Mo trivia - if not married, I would probably still be training Saudis on firing and maintaing the harpoon missile systems we sold them. Very Happy

Big bucks too - but it would take up more of my life thatn Pirates does...
