Little brother got it. Basically The Sims, but you make movies. Its neat but sorta limited on animations. Built in editing allowing the import of sounds n such. Not for me.

Yes you can watch them.
You can add subtitles or voice-overs too.
The characters mouthes even move with the voices if you do voice-overs.
You can also upload your movies to your on personal studio page on the main "The Movies" website, and have them rated and get points.
With those points you can buy more sets and props and costumes and stuff.
With enough creative editing you can do basically anything you want, even with the limited number of animations (which is about 700 total if I remember correctly).
I just make movies in sandbox mode (where you can set it so your actors/directors are always happy so no need for the Sims-like part. Also give yourself an insane amount of cash so no need for the tycoon part).
As of right now there are no pirate-themed costumes/sets but with the Propshop (which is where you spend points) being constantly updated with new stuff, I wouldn't be surprised to see it eventually.
