Anybody else play EVE Online?

Hey guys. You might not have seen me around recently for one of two reasons. One, I was up on Mt. Hood skiing for three days, Tuesday through Thursday. That was quite a bit of fun; it had been years since I skiied, and by the time I came off the slopes I was hitting some "blue squares", or intermediate sections. I think I'll give a few "black diamonds" (hard) a shot the next time I go up.

The other reason is that I've been hooked on a free trial account of EVE Online for the past 10 days. Anyone here heard of it or play it? I'm a Gallente fighter with a destroyer at the moment. In game name is Bradenshaw Jafar (Bradenshaw isn't my real name, nor is Jafar). Anyone that plays it and is up for sticking together, I'm up for it too.
Those who know it know that I haven't strayed far from the world of seafaring pirates by playing this game. It owns. Nevertheless, I'm still around to pillage with you guys.

I've heard of it, the space simulator MMO, right?

if I had a job / money, heck yes I'd play it, but I'm not entirely sure if anyone here does (doubtful)

I just read a legnthy article on this crazy in-depth revolt thing that went down on EVE online in PCGamer, and wow that game sounds to rock. Our old Mist coder played often, I am pretty tempted to get into it- sounds like a pretty gg.

I played it for a while.
Really steep learning curve (you will still be finding otu new things a year into the game, but thats part of the fun).
The game is absolutely MASSIVE.
You can look at the star chart and see what looks like at least 100 stars (I never actually counted) and then realize that you can go to each and every single one of them.
I stopped playing only because all of the people I knew quit to play WoW (ugh...).
It has beautiful graphics that will work on a relatively old computer.
There is no ground to render all the time (just planets, stars, ships, stations, debri) so it can still look nice on those "not-so-good" computers.
The game world is absolutely and completely player run.
NPCs rarely have anything to do with the politics an economy.
The galaxy is split up into sections (10-20 solar systems each) and there are Corporations (aka guilds aka clans) that rule entire sections all on their own.
I believe there is one corp that rules 2 or 3.
The game gives you almost absolute freedom to do whatever you want.

As with pretty much any time I start talkin' about MMO's I have to say that I am no good at explaining everything and since I didn't play the game more than a few months there is a lot I don't know.

Also, on their video's page is a movie called "EVE Never Fades" which is an absolute must-watch even if you don't plan on playing the game because it is just plain awesome.
