I would post a psd, but there's too much invovled that you have to do on your own. Basically:

Create a new 350x19 image. Set your foreground and background colors to the gradient you want. Use the gradient tool on your original layer. Make a new 6x6 image, and make a diagnal black line starting from the top right, ending at the bottom left. (Best if you zoom in to the max). Then go to edit: define new pattern (or w/e its called in your PS version). go back to the userbar image, go to blending options on the original layer, then pattern overlay, and select your horizontal line. Set the optacy to w/e you want it to be. Then put in your text and images, and viola, a fancy userbar.
